Bahdeavn's "Cool Hell" lives somewhere between Elliott Smith's self-titled record and Kevin Drew's initial departure from Broken Social Scene. It's a cleverly crafted record of quietly somber songs that find the sweetness in sadness and the rejoice in "its all fucked." Bahdeavn is the most mature of John Galm's projects, and with it, he explores the subtleties of instrumentation paired with his not-so-subtle lyrical content. We look forward to hearing much, much more.
CD released by Late Records. LP coming on Square of Opposition in 2017.
